Heavily Glazed Extension/Conservatory

At Dual Home Inspectors we are aware that, at times, you may require an extension, which carries ‘too much glazing’ in the eyes of Building Control.

Windows covering a wall area which is more than 25% of the floor area is classed as too much glazing, or maybe even a conservatory that is either heated or not separate from the main dwelling (no door).

We have a clever solution which involves offsetting. This is where we offset a thermal improvement against a thermal loss, e.g. an improvement in the roof insulation could be offset against the extra glazing.

We provide a consultative, fixed price service for this type of challenge on a case by case basis. It is our job to provide you with the right changes to achieve the required standards set by your Building Control Officer.

Should you have a property which requires this service, or just wish to discuss this information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
